Bensound introduces Whitelisting for YouTube channels
At Bensound, we strive to make our customers’ experience as seamless as possible. With this in mind, we have redesigned our process for YouTube videos for all our customers.
If you own a single-track License or an All Access Subscription Plan, and you publish videos on YouTube, Bensound now allows you to list your YouTube channel ID in your Bensound account to whitelist it and stay safe from copyright claims, hassle-free!
Keeping content ID claims at bay
YouTube uses recognition software that scans the music in your video to see if you are using copyrighted material. If it detects copyrighted material in your video, it issues a Content ID claim on your video. You can always dispute it, but you probably have better things to do with your time.
To make sure that all your YouTube videos that use music you licensed from Bensound are cleared automatically by YouTube’s content identification system and stay free of Content ID claims, you can now add your YouTube channel ID at checkout, or in your Bensound account.
Listing your YouTube channel ID in your account ensures that Bensound can recognize your channel and make sure that any claims related to Bensound music are automatically released, without any further action needed on your part. This is what we call “whitelisting” or “clearing” your YouTube channel.
Adding your YouTube channel ID to your account
If you purchased a single-track License or an All Access Subscription plan, you can easily add your YouTube channel ID to your account via your account panel in the Channel IDs section. All you need to do is sign in, go to My Account, select Channel IDs in the left panel, enter your YouTube Channel ID, and select submit. And, voilà! You can now keep on creating content and enjoy a claim-free experience.
What has changed for the Free License with Attribution users
Whitelisting is only possible with a single-track License or an All Access Subscription plan, but fear not! Bensound is still offering its Free License with Attribution for its Free Music selection.
As a Free License user, to stay safe from copyright claims on YouTube, you just need to make sure to add a single-use attribution text to your video description.
When you download a track from Bensound’s Free Music section, a pop-up appears with an attribution text. Copy the entire attribution text and then paste it into your video description. That’s it!
Just don’t forget that each attribution text is good for a single video; if you want to use the same track in a new video, you can select download again to get a new attribution text.
